Overview

Continuous level indication without power

See the liquid level without opening the vessel and without supplying power. A float inside the chamber moves magnetic indicators outside it, keeping the process sealed.

Because process fluid is fully contained in the float cage, the instrument is preferred wherever sight glass safety is a concern, and across demanding applications in petrochemical, refinery, pharmaceutical, chemical and oil-storage plant.

Four configurations cover basic indication, switch output, 4~20 mA transmission and top-mounted installation.

No power required

A permanent-magnet float drives the indicator strip without any external power supply.

Gas-tight separation

Process medium stays fully enclosed in the cage, so indication stays safe even on hazardous fluids.

Wide material choice

Float and cage in SS304, SS316, PTFE, PP, PVC or PVDF to match the medium.

Add-on sensing

Level switches and 4~20 mA transmitters mount directly to the cage without process entry.

IndicationRed-White or Yellow-Black rotating flappers
MountingSide-side or top mounted

Roller material determines temperature limit: plastic rollers to 100 °C, aluminium rollers to 250 °C, ceramic rollers to 450 °C. Electronic indicators with single or double set-point relays are available as an option.

Models and variants

Four configurations, one cage.

All groups share the same float cage and indicator strip. Choose the standard group for visual-only readout. Add the switch group where a relay output is needed for alarm or control. Specify the transmitter group when a 4~20 mA signal to a DCS or PLC is required. Select the top-mounted group when side connections to the vessel are not available.

01

Standard MLI

VI-MLI-S

Flanged float cage with red/white rotating bi-colour indicator strip. Float and cage metallurgy to order.

Visual indication. Level read locally from the indicator. No power supply required.

Standard MLI
02

MLI with Level Switch

VI-MLI-SW

One or more magnetic reed or proximity switches fixed to the float cage. Single or dual set-point relay output.

Switch output. Switches clamp to the cage externally, so there is no process entry and no sealing risk.

MLI with Level Switch
03

MLI with Transmitter

VI-MLI-T

Magnetostrictive or reed-chain transmitter rail mounted along the float cage. Continuous 4~20 mA level signal.

4~20 mA output. For remote indication or DCS integration.

MLI with Transmitter
04

Top Mounted MLI

VI-MLI-TM

Top-entry float and cage with indicator strip mounted externally. Suited to vessels with limited side access.

Single top-flange connection. The float hangs inside the vessel, so no side nozzles are required.

Top Mounted MLI
