Overview

When build-up makes level switching difficult

The probe senses a change in the electrical properties around it. The controller is mounted away from the process, making this useful where coating, dust or splashing can make other point switches unreliable.

The switch comprises two parts, a sensing probe and an electronic controller. The probe head is explosion proof to cover the terminals of the RF signal cable, and the probe contains no electronics or any other sensitive element. The controller may be inbuilt or separately housed in a dust proof enclosure suitable for outdoor duty, mounted at a convenient location near the sensor and connected through a coaxial cable.

Long insertions of sensors from the sides of a vessel are prone to damage from the mechanical forces of filling and extraction. This design accounts for that.

Unaffected by coating

Coating and accumulation of material on the sensor, sensing element or side walls does not change the reading.

No temperature-sensitive element

The sensor does not carry an element sensitive to temperature.

Immune to turbulence

Unaffected by suspended particles, splashing or turbulence.

Clear local status

Local LED indications for Normal, Alarm and Healthy Probe, with fail-safe high or low level selection.

Power supply220 / 110 / 24 VAC 50/60 Hz
Controller enclosureDust proof enclosure, suitable for outdoor duty
Probe connectionConnected to the controller through a coaxial cable
Relay outputSPDT / DPDT relay output, rated 5 Amp 220 VAC
Fail safeHigh or low level
Local indicationLED indications for Normal, Alarm and Healthy Probe
Remote installationUp to 100 feet from probe
Cable entry (probe)1/2" ET for probe connection or as specified
Cable entry (power)3/4" ET for power / control cable or as specified
Probe headExplosion proof, covering the terminals of the RF signal cable

The probe contains no electronics or other sensitive element, which is what allows it to sit in aggressive service and be replaced without recalibrating the loop.

Let us understand the material

Share the material, dielectric behaviour if known, temperature, pressure and probe length. We will confirm the probe and remote-controller arrangement.
