Mercury and Gas Filled Thermometer

A filled thermometer uses the expansion of its internal system to move the pointer. It gives a continuous, easy-to-read scale and can be supplied with a remote capillary where the display needs to sit away from the process.

Overview

A direct-reading thermometer with a linear scale

A filled thermometer uses the expansion of its internal system to move the pointer. It gives a continuous, easy-to-read scale and can be supplied with a remote capillary where the display needs to sit away from the process.

In these thermometers a linear scale is obtained, which makes the system preferable to customers who require a precise reading of scale over the whole range. Filled thermometers are manufactured as per EN-13190, BS 5235 and ASME B 40.3.

Rigid stem, every angle and distant reading types, the last with capillary up to 15 metres.

Linear scale

Expansion of the fill gives a linear scale, so a value can be read precisely anywhere across the range.

Made to standard

Manufactured as per EN-13190, BS 5235 and ASME B 40.3.

Distant reading

Capillary types up to 15 metres, in a choice of five capillary armouring options.

Long stems

Maximum stem length of 2000 mm, twice that of the bimetal equivalent.
